    Pros

Benefits and the work life balance good depending on the department. There are a few excellent managers who serve as mentors.

    Cons

Pay is dramatically below the industry standard. Many within management have been promoted into the role without any management experience just because they needed to find a position for them. Scientists are not as well respected within the company as they were in the past. The North American branch has large layoffs twice a year (summer time and at Christmas). Gifts and parties are nearly eliminated and the... atmosphere has changed to 'be lucky to still have a job.' Despite a diversity program, sexism and discrimination continue to be a major issue with white males making up most of the higher level positions within North America.

    Advice to Management

Eliminate the many layers of management and reward the employees doing the dirty work and investing countless hours. Listen to the feedback from high performing employees and follow up with the high performers who continually leave the organization to correct root problems.
