I have been working at QIAGEN full-time

    Pros

Flexible (but flexibility decreasing). Seriously great products, perform better than the competition in most cases. The company has (or least used to have), a sense of ethics and focus on more than just the corporate dollar.

    Cons

Poor management with next to zero responses to email or phone requests for almost anything that isn't a direct, immediate sale. No room for growth. High staff turnover at all levels, including senior management. Cost cutting, outsourcing and ineffective armchair decisions made by uninformed areas of the business have contributed to low morale and high loss of talent. Expect rough tines ahead.

    Advice to Management

Show you care about your staff, that you value them, and have trust in their recommendations. When multiple staff leave you because they felt belittled and marginalised, and it's clear you play favourites to one individual, it's time to lift your game.

I worked at QIAGEN full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Global vision is very noble Workplace flexibility is good Salaries are fairly good

    Cons

Slave to the stock market - always pushing for revenue today rather than future profits Severe staff instability problem - recent country management increasing the problem Imported management doesn't understand local workplace culture or value local staff

    Advice to Management

Look closer at how country management is treating staff Take time to invest for long term profits rather than pushing for instant revenue
