Pros

Pros: 1. Benefits and pay are ok, not great, but enough to keep you here.

Cons

Cons: This depends a lot on the team you join, but I've seen many people mention that they hardly work at all. Disguised unemployment is rife. They do not need as many engineers in most teams. In my team (MST), most of the work was based on manual testing, verification and validation. There was no scope for real innovation. I thought the work was boring, repetitive and frustrating. If you are joining QIPL with high expectations, you probably shouldn't. I was hardly given any work most of the time. When I did get some assignments, I was constantly micro-managed and even asked for daily updates. Honestly, their work doesn't even require you to have a bachelor's degree, anyone can do it. I felt myself going brain-dead working here. The one year I worked here was a huge waste of my potential, time and energy. My coworkers were mostly older than me and I did not vibe with them at all. One of them had made an unprofessional remark about me. I filed an anonymous complaint through their incident reporting portal and I was just asked to talk to some HR (seriously what was even the point of being anonymous then). Other coworkers were simply complacent about their growth and were more than happy to live paycheck to paycheck. So if you're looking to join a team full of ambitious engineers passionate about the work they do, don't join Qualcomm India. Managers couldn't care less about your career growth, progression and learning goals. I had like 1-2 one on ones with my manager over 1 year. They do have an Annual Review system which helps employees set goals and keep checking in on them. However, my team's manager just emailed everyone a set of goals to copy-paste and enter into the portal. I am not sure if this is how it works in other teams or locations. People who do work hard here get very little recognition in terms of bonuses or awards, most you can expect is an email with a short praise for you. TLDR: boring work, terrible management, HR and management do not take unprofessional conduct seriously. Joining and relocation bonuses come with a condition, provided you work with them for 2 years. I lost a ton of money in taxes because I had to return it, as I am leaving within one year (My IQ will drop to dangerously low levels if I stay here any longer).

Pros

Great benefits, the pay is like okay. Some cool reimbursement programs and health centers on campus

Cons

Career progression and culture varies extremely depending on department. Some parts almost set you up for failure and it's difficult to gain new skills. Lots of qualcomm teams are too scared to explore new technologies and migrate to state of the art services and are comfortable in sticking with old technology for familiarity. Also, HR does nothing if a coworker makes you uncomfortable.
