Pros

-it seemed like a decent starting wage for me. I was wrong, for the work, lack of cooperation/communication from other team members, I should have asked double.

Cons

- The company is using technology that was last relevant about 15 years ago to develop and maintain their software - "Developers" (and yes, that belongs in quotes as they don't necessarily deserve the title) are working without any standardized methods of testing, developing, and no design specs for the modules they are working with (I asked, they had none, and couldn't provide me with the answers needed to complete my job). - "Developers" create DB tables willy nilly on the fly with absolutely no thought to schema, maintainability, or functionality. -"Developers" are expected to read Insurance specific technical documents. I'm a Programmer, not an insurance salesman. -For an entry level position for a student it appears to be a decent starting salary. But its not worth the headache. I'd recommend finding a company using relevant technology and not expecting you to be an insurance lawyer on the first day of working there, also a company where you can find someone who can mentor you along your path to becoming a fledgling programmer. NOTE: All positive reviews for the company are from the same day. If you want to take that as a sign about how bad it is to work there, then you'd be right.

Pros

stable software as a service products that do not require a lot of training once the customer gets onboarded. i also like how easy it is to do a demo when a prospect wants to see the system.

Cons

the sales cycle can take longer that i want as we sell to a lot of mom and pop small businesses so i can't really hard close them since they don't use anything to begin with. the last software company i worked at i had more sales but way more cancellations so i do prefer this environment.

Pros

I managed jira projects for the transition from Quomation's legacy software to their new web based .net infrastructure. The initial spin up was a ton of work but once we got the framework built, the operation ran great. Seeing a project from the conception stage all the way through to production is one of the more satisfying experiences I had with Quomation. When the heavy lifting was done, I was off to find my next project to do.

Cons

Legacy software can be messy. It was not unique to Quomation as other places I have been, there were some real head scratchers but like any business, you got to get a project to market in order to return the money invested. I would have liked more documentation but since we had a small group we were able to figure it all out. trial and error but the job got done.
