set schedule, excellent pay and good benefits. many additional perks for employees, they put in a gym for employees to use before and after work or while on their breaks

jobs were bid and won by seniority not by job performance. someone that has been there longer but has a terrible work ethic could essentially beat you out of a position just because they worked there longer
