Bullying Culture - Anonymous employee Samworth Brothers Employee Review

The senior management system at Melton is poor, in terms of the way they interact with other staff. There is a very strong sense of heirachy, and if anyone has ideas which do not fit the agenda of the senior team they are not listened too. There is a bullying culture in departments, which has gone on for a long time but despite HR being informed nothing happens. The business lacks humility towards staff and amanufactures a “Perfect” appearance, when the Samworth family visits. More work goes into depicting an image that staff are happy and the business is great to the Samworth family than actually ensuring staff are happy! Training which is seen as essential for roles is not given - there is no room for progression. Overtime is expected but not paid and extra hours worked are not given in lieu. There is hostility between departments, which negatively impacts team members. Factory staff express their unhappiness and how the business has changed in the past 6 years.
