Pros
Shifts were flexible, you could book whatever was available, whether that was a few days or a few months in advance. Popular shifts would go super quickly, especially if you wanted desirable hours. You get to know your colleagues within your city’s Showsec team if you work enough shifts. Working big and famous events is also a plus, experiences which no other company could offer.p
Cons
Travel is a problem, sometimes travel isn’t reimbursed or it is difficult to access transport to certain shifts. Grouped shifts might not have the correct or sufficient facilities to support you on and off work, such as during festivals or other large multi-day events. Some supervisors have behavioural issues which results in mistreatment of yourself and fellow stewards, with lack of support during difficult situations being a problem due to lack of extra stewards at your position. At certain venues, there may be helicoptering of your behaviour which is over the top.
