Pros

St. Jude's Ranch is a special place to work out. I understand the mission and all the efforts to serve more kids. I appreciate all the support to staff and the constant work on the org culture by asking staff what support they need, employee incentives and more.

Cons

There is alot going on with growth and budget limitations.

Pros

For those that remain with the organization long enough, the daily operations staff does truly feel like a family. The front line staff are caring and interested in each others lives both in and outside of work and this makes for a great environment with respect to the people you work with. The locations of the facilities are great. They are located in small towns but close enough to large cities to offer employees the feel of a small town environment to work in but with the ability to live in a large urban location and all of the trappings that entails.

Cons

Unfortunately executive leadership isn't focused on the success of its staff and clients but rather focused solely on the bottom line of some KPIs the board of trustees has identified. Staff do not receive any type of pay for performance increases but rather have the opportunity to earn bonuses which are provided at the CEOs discretionary - regardless of actual performance review. The companies CEO is not in touch with the community perceptions as she commutes from Boston, more than 1000 miles from the nearest location of the organization. The distance causes a disconnect in gaining a true understanding of the impact of current political and financial climate in a culture that has been one of the hardest hit by the recession.
