Pros
Several employees that are doing the production work are talented, inspirational people. The projects are interesting and the sense of accomplishment is really good.
Cons
The founders of the company share nothing in terms of planning or where the company is going. To some degree, this is Microsoft insisting and that's business. The founders can still share non-distinct plans without revealing product names so people have a bigger picture of what's going on. Hiring and layoffs are responses to which projects are happening next so this is not the place to go to develop a career. This is where you'll crank out four big projects in a year and understand that you're expendable at any moment. The founders will tell you that it's a family company and family comes first. What they mean is their family. If you need to take a day off to attend a child's event, please request that with 30 days notice.
