Pros

Culture at TP: I feel very fortunate to work for TP. A key aspect for me is building relationships, taking the time to understand each student's individuality, their passions, and what drives their learning. During my interview, I found that the team at TP shared the same values, emphasising the importance of fostering meaningful connections not only between students and teachers but also among colleagues, the support network and everyone connected to TP. TP maintains an approachable environment, where every interaction feels like a conversation among friends. I was impressed by the extensive support and professional development opportunities available through TES and in-house programs. The comprehensive yet user-friendly reporting system further streamlines the teaching experience. Lots of back channel support, I know that if I have any concern or problem I can get support very quickly, someone will call me back normally in minutes if I need someone urgently. The support for safeguarding is superb. My reports are always read and someone will get back to me if there is anything they want me to expand on. The exams team do a really good job. TP seem to have thought of everything. Even got a voucher for COSTA at Christmas :)

Cons

If you don't like being autonomous this would not be the place for you to work at the team are all over the country. That has never been a problem for me as it is my preferred working style. Fitting in breaks long enough to eat can be challenging sometimes but not everyday.

Pros

None as I've had no work in a whole year.

Cons

I passed the interview and job sounded great. I have over 15 years experience as an ESOL tutor. I paid out for a DBS check and had two referees go out of their way for me. In a whole year I not had one referral. When I queried this, I was told that students have particular requests and I hadn't passed any of these. I just wonder why these things aren't picked up in the recruitment process. It's awful to waste people's time and money, never mind having them use referees that they may not be able to ask again.

Thank you for your review. I want to assure you that we always strive to match our tutors with opportunities that align with their skills and experience. However, since we rely on Local Authorities and Schools to reach out to us when they have a referral, and these requests are fully dependant on the needs of the young people, it can be challenging to predict how much work will be available at any given time. During the onboarding process, we do our best to communicate that there are no guaranteed hours to help set expectations. While we saw an increase in work in your area when you applied, things haven’t continued as we hoped, and we haven’t been able to recommend you for any placements yet. We completely understand your frustration and want you to know that we are committed to supporting the young people we work with by recruiting the best tutors who can truly make a difference. In the meantime, please do contact us if you would still be interested in continuing to be considered for work with us so that we may do our best to make this situation right.
