Pros
The pay as a contract employee was higher than average for RNs in the region of the country I worked in. As long as you were doing your job locally, you generally didn't hear much from the contract company. Any time I needed to reach out to the company, they were pretty responsive, even though we were thousands of miles apart.
Cons
The contract company had to rely on the "on-the-ground" local players without ever meeting them in person. That lead to some shady deals and the contract company not really getting a true picture of what was going on, nor understanding the (negative) dynamics they inherited.
