I have been working at The Body Shop part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fun store, very laid back, products are good quality and sell themselves . Everyone i work with is very nice and its a non-competitive atmosphere. Management is understanding and friendly and look forward to working with my bosses. Our district manager is very nice as well and is fun to have visit.

    Cons

Their standards and approach to customer service is sub-par. They expect you to practically hound a customer who might be "Just looking" and they tend to walk out when try to "connect" with them. Being forced to sell the cards is another thing, a lot of people don't want to pay for a rewards program.

    Advice to Management

Maybe dial down a little on how hard you want you associates to press on a customer. Building a basket is one thing, but don't overwhelm someone.

I have been working at The Body Shop part-time

    Pros

The enviroment was good at times, fun and time passed really quickly. Fast paced on a busy day, so great for people who like to be on the go. Lenght of breaks were good as well. Pretty flexible with hours.

    Cons

So it has its downs...lots of tension and spats. When such incidents are reported, not much seems to be done about it. In fact what follows seem to be even more tension. The pay is not the most attractive. It is easy to pick up hours, but difficult to drop them. Stressful as figures seem to be priority in comparison to the ongoing tension.

    Advice to Management

See that things are fully resolved and ensure that no new 'incidents' erupt. And if they do, fully take it into stride and do whatever is necessary.
