Pros
Everyone is able to pursue all facets of their talents. Opportunity for self-education and mentors are abundant. Really, it's the people who make all the difference. Coming out of corporate America, it was just very eye-opening to experience such a positive employee-focused environment versus the standard run-you-into-the-ground shops.
Cons
Being both academia and health means the hiring process is very slow, so being understaffed does happen, and it's frustrating. Be patient, and ask for support. They will give it to you.
