I have been working at Equal Experts for more than 3 years

    Pros

EE provides the opportunity to grow and learn every day no matter how experienced you are. The flat structure means everyone can put forward an idea and if it's good, you make it happen. I love working with grown ups but we still have fun. The company is growing and changing so rapidly but the specialness which is EE is still there

    Cons

Keeping on top of all the new business as it changes all the time

    Advice to Management

We must keep reminding ourselves why we were founded and we must never forget the value of non-technical people too who work with technical people to make this company such a success in the wonderful world of technology

I have been working at Equal Experts full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Excellent professionals, great work environment, great work/life balance, flat structure, excellent culture and values, excellent compensation. For the portuguese companies culture it is a breath of fresh air and a complete atypical environment for the best! The Lisbon is great, it is located in Parque das Nações where you have a lot of transportation and a lot of restaurants and stores. Has it is by the river you...

I have been working at Equal Experts for less than a year

    Pros

No hierarchy at all, everyone is responsible for their own work and are able to take important decisions regardless the job role. Very open-minded culture, we can make suggestions and introduce new ways of working without creating any constrains between people. Salaries and conditions are above average for Portugal and it's a great opportunity to work in a non common company considering the portuguese reality.

    Cons

Due to the fact of being so recent in Portugal, there's still lacking some structure in all the processes.

    Advice to Management

Keep up with the same mindset and make sure the company grows with established processes and keeping the same flat structure.

I have been working at Equal Experts

    Pros

All senior members at the top of their game so there is a huge pool of wealth and knowledge to both feed into and learn from. Contractors are treated the same and permanent senior employees from the start. All ideas, thoughts and suggestions for improvements are valued and you will have the opportunity to work with all the latest technologies with some large well known clients.

    Cons

Multiple geographical locations can be a challenge when trying to put a face to a name. Given both the calibre of contractors at Equal Experts and the client base, there is little known about the company unless you have had dealings with them before.

I have been working at Equal Experts full-time

    Pros

Positive environment that fosters the exploration of new things, full of highly skilled people willing to share their knowledge and experience. You are not perceived as a "one tech" developer but rather as a engineer that is able to tackle any task in any technology (with a bit of help to ramp up the skills). Several degrees of freedom as to what you work on - no project is accepted without the engineering team...

    Cons

100% Pair programming, like 1 PC = 2 People 100% of your work time - and there is absolutely no way around it. For a company with a mindset of being very open to all ideas, setting this kind of absolute seems very odd. Too much "fighting" - because all of the people are highly skilled, opinions on how to implement or handle situations tend to quickly escalate to religious wars. Low velocity - because there is too...

    Cons

The company is probably not as well recognised as it should and hopefully will be for the good people it has and work it does

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Great opportunities and challenges as opposed to stringent stick to one job-task. Amazing culture, emphasis on work-life balance. Flat hierarchy, Agile methodology followers. New technology each time for new projects. Fast pace company, No direct mental pressure. The devs here are amazing - alot to learn form and look upto. Spending a few years would make you an amazing developer and learner with a different perspective...

I have been working at Equal Experts full-time

    Pros

All senior staff means little escalation or support required. All really helpful nice people, this is as much a recruitment requirement as technical skills. A great environment to learn and grow. Trusted by clients as part of their team.

    Cons

The size and geographic spread of the business can make it hard to meet new people.
