I worked at Equal Experts full-time for more than a year

    Pros

EE offers good flexible working, great salaries and interesting projects.

    Cons

EE talks about being built on values, but that is all it is - talk. Transparency is not present despite it being marketed as a key value in the organisations success. In reality, there is backstabbing, lies, favoritism and a low moral. HR doesn't look out for employees, instead, it breeds distrust between teams and people. EE looks like a shiny new toy on the outside, but on the inside its falling apart at the seams.

I have been working at Equal Experts for more than 3 years

    Pros

Interesting projects, great organisational support, and they take great care of employees and encourage

    Cons

Working in an environment where everyone is of a very high calibre can present its own challenges sometimes, but most consultants have a high EQ and the culture is very respectful, so it's not often.

I worked at Equal Experts for more than a year

    Pros

Highly skilled team members and a great working culture between team members. Great work life balance. Interesting projects

    Cons

Engagement managers' only concern is to please clients and in doing so will ignore expert's advise and micromanage. As a consequence values mentioned on the corporate charter are no longer followed. Teams go along with this against better judgement. No one feels empowered to speak up or push back (internally or against clients). Inter-office politics.

    Equal Experts Response

    January 22, 2019

You’re right that this situation you describe isn’t consistent with our values. I appreciate hearing your experience, both positive and negative as it helps us better understand how we can help deliver value for our clients and our people. I can see how you might have felt disappointed and frustrated at the experience you’ve had. You’ve highlighted that our values are great and are advising us to focus on being realistic and honest about times when we don’t meet those values. I felt sad to hear about your experience as we’d always like to live up to our values and that didn’t happen in this situation. You’ve described a situation where people felt uncomfortable to speak up or push back against engagement manager and partner’s micromanaging teams. That’s valuable as it has already helped us in internal conversations we are having about how we can be more aware of detecting and correcting these kinds of situations. If you would be willing to share more we’d love to hear about it either via Slack or feedback at equalexperts dot com Jon Dickinson - Co-CEO

I have been working at Equal Experts for more than 3 years

    Pros

interesting projects amazing colleagues good work-life balance overall the only place I would want to work at right now

    Cons

the organisation is growing fast and getting into new spaces (shift from pure software house to change/transformation agents). I am a bit concerned how this will influence the quality of staff and work going forwards. I have already observed a bit of a two tier hierarchy with employed vs. associates diluting the original model and an influx of buzzy-bodies who talk a good game but are hard to tie down in terms of what they actually do. Also as the company is growing, top talent are spread thinner and thinner, meaning that quality of delivery, while still high, may not be what it used to with Equal Experts.

I have been working at Equal Experts full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Working with top people Interesting projects Enabling clients to provide excellent services Rotating people in and out of projects keeps people in a fresh mind set and motivated

    Cons

That's a hard one; given the business model, there is a bit of rotation of people in and out, and it's always sad when we temporarily lose very good people, specially the ones you became friends with

I have been working at Equal Experts for more than 3 years

    Pros

You get to work with some of the best people in the industry and it is unusual to find so many good technologists in such a small company. There are lots of interesting projects with some high-profile clients and you get to learn a lot about delivering in a pretty short amount of time.

    Cons

So many good people in one place can cause a clash of opinions at times and given the work is project based you don't get to meet everyone in the company

I have been working at Equal Experts full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Opportunities to work on interesting projects with some amazing, like minded people. Great things can happen when many talented individuals from different backgrounds come together to help a client change the way they create software or achieve their goals. So much more than just another contracting job.

    Cons

Not all projects will be amazing - the reason that clients look to EE is often because they need help to solve a difficult problem. But that also reflects the type of people that work for EE. If everything was easy then work would be pretty boring

I have been working at Equal Experts for more than a year

    Pros

    * Continually working on interesting projects with highly skilled peers. * A passion for using the right technology for the right job and doing things right. * Tight team integration spanning across Test/Development/Ops.

    Cons

Sometimes you have to try and integrate with businesses that don't work the same way and don't want to change, but that's really a problem with inflexible business processes on the client side, not the Equal Experts side.

I have been working at Equal Experts for more than 3 years

    Pros

If you like getting stuff delivered, going for great outcomes and working with smart people who share similar values then EE is for you. Our teams of pragmatic people use Agile software development and management practices with huge XP influence. We usually work on interesting projects and there's always someone to surprise you what they've been exploring in their own time. What better environment for a consultant?

    Cons

The only slight downside from my point of view is the location of most projects but if you're based in or around London that should not be a problem
