I worked at Equinox Fitness part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Strong push for education through the Equinox training. If you really want to be an amazing personal trainer, you can really learn a ton. Equinox also has a strong reputation. For a gym chain, this is about as good as you can do. Much more respect as an Equinox PT vs Golds gym, LA Fitness, 24 Hour, etc. Also, while personal training rates are total crap, still beat out these other gym chains. Which is crazy. Lots of beautiful people to interact with and potentially hook up with.... if that's your thing. It can be fun at times.. no doubt. Also, we had some very fun community outreach events. Co-workers are all pretty fun. Nice, clean, fresh smelling gym. Top notch.

    Cons

Low pay. You only make 25-40% (only after many years), of what clients are charged. Although they do make it easy to have a full client trainer load if you work hard and people like you. It sucks being in a Blue shirt, but if you hustle, you can be out of a Blue shirt in a few months. Did I mention how much it sucks working floor shifts with your blue shirt? Closing the gym is a ton of work.

I worked at Equinox Fitness full-time

    Pros

They offer a lot of continuing education and support with finding clients.

    Cons

Compensation is 100% commission based; When sessions drop in the summer due to seasonal travel, many employees lose health insurance because they don't have enough hours to be "full-time".

I have been working at Equinox Fitness part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great company culture, amazing management, fun environment, teaches you excellent customer service skills, free gym membership

    Cons

The only downside for me was the pay. If I didn't enjoy the job so much and didn't utilize all the other benefits, then the pay would be no reason for me to stay
