I worked at Equinox Fitness full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The company puts a lot into marketing and there is money to be made of you're at the right club.

    Cons

A cult like atmosphere. The higher ups seemed like nice people at first, but once you get to know them they're all dead behind the eyes. That and they have a higher turnover than McDonalds. Tons of churn and burn! Proceed with caution.

I have been working at Equinox Fitness part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great way to network and meet people!

    Cons

Managers don’t train you if you have never worked in retail and expect you to know everything immediately. You are reprimanded for not knowing stuff instead of being shown or taught.

I have been working at Equinox Fitness part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Free gym membership, discounts on personal training, genuinely cool coworkers

    Cons

Literally zero regard for anything you do outside of Equinox. Wouldn't give me bereavement time for my grandfather's funeral - as if I could plan to request that time off a month in advance, obviously you don't plan for death. I also work a 9-5 job and they tried to give me excessive hours on top of this giving me 12 hour days to work which is unreasonable.

I have been working at Equinox Fitness full-time for less than a year

    Pros

If you pay attention and follow their core values, you can grow within this or any company. It is all about an experience. Positive people, successful people, good money. Flexible with schedule.

    Cons

Some of the trainers like to flirt. Stand your ground right away! They can hire you as full time but will really only get part time hours unless you pick them up in other locations.

I worked at Equinox Fitness part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Seasonal employee sale, but that’s rare. No real pros.

    Cons

Can’t use the gym most times of the day Management is so rude. They don’t typically like doing their job, but love micromanaging. Employee etiquette is the equivalent of middle school or high school cliques Some members are absolutely nasty Hours are not flexible — you’re basically expected to be available to work all day and everyday. If you have another job that pays more or simply need a day to have a life, the company looks down on you.
