I worked at Fidelity Investments full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Management is top-notch, yet also depends on location. Opportunity to advance is definitely there, especially when you express desire to work at a branch. Training for the required exams is excellent, and you get paid time to study for said exams.

    Cons

Working at call centers during down markets can be stressful when customers believe you stole money out of their accounts.

    Advice to Management

Be consistent in disciplinary action, and clear direction to avoid costly career mistakes.

I worked at Fidelity Investments full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Casual dress, coffee, walking trails, fitness reimbursement, though it could be better

    Cons

Low pay, stagnation, minimal career mobility, unprofessionalism is abundant, degragotory comments amongst associates

    Advice to Management

Work on yourselves and stop delivering cookie cutter coaching sessions to associates. You're no better than associates, in fact recent college grads are more intelligent than probably 80% of middle management in terms of common sense, business decision-making, EQ and conversation skills.

I worked at Fidelity Investments full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Pay and time off.

    Cons

Everything is driven solely by metrics that you aren't really rewarded for. Customer service is not actually the priority. They have no problem encouraging their employees to get off the phone quickly to get to the next call. You are punished if you don't take enough calls (if you work an 8 hour shift, and take less than 50 phone calls that day, that is considered not meeting your goal). Management will coach you to take...

    Advice to Management

Stop being corny. Stop trying to cover up the fact that all you really want is your employees to be robots that pump out 80-100 calls a day. Be realistic with your employees. Stop being so incredibly patronizing to your employees. Take phone calls one day to remind yourself of how draining the job actually is.

This place is amazing. The work environment is incredible. Everyone is so so nice. The pay and benefits are great! I can't praise it enough

    Cons

None that I can think of!

I worked at Fidelity Investments full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Training programs. That’s it. Advice...work here a year only. Get as many licenses as possible and get out. They do not pay for loyalty...call it PAID TRAINING.

    Cons

Middle management is a joke... Low pay. Almost no advancement opportunities like they try and sell you on. It used to be prestigious to work here 20yrs ago. Now just a lowly discount broker that does not pay a living wage.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of middle management. All they do is talk amongst themselves about how worried they are about losing their job. START PAYING A DECENT, LIVABLE WAGE

I worked at Fidelity Investments full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Tons of vacation time, health insurance is great, the 401k match and profit sharing are incredible.

    Cons

They pay you just enough to stay, but not enough to make you want to stay.

    Advice to Management

Make sure to reward good results.

I worked at Fidelity Investments full-time for less than a year

    Pros

-They hire good people. It is nice to assocaite with other representatives when there is time (which is almost never). Almost every one of my peers had a friendly personality which went a long ways on the bad days (which was most of them). -Management was reasonable and let me leave the phone position to an internal operations position before I had been working there one year.

    Cons

-First of all, it is a call center job. The title makes it sound fancier and in the interview they might make you think you are going to be doing a lot more things related to investments than you actually will. Probably 80% of calls are password resets and simple financial transactions. -Benefits are good as a percentage, but my base salary was so much lower than what I made after I left that 7% 401k match AND 10%...

    Advice to Management

-Lower Management: Thanks for bending some rules to let me take another internal job a few months before a year in the role. Do what you have to do, but just remember that this was most people's back up plan and they are most likely suffering. -Upper Management: It might be wise to consider one or multiple more qualitative metrics to accompany the surveys. Also, maybe consider allowing some metrics to compensate for...
