    Pros

    Opportunity for advancement, good training

    Cons

There can be lots of moving to different locations which is frustrating, pay is not great unless you are a store manager

    Advice to Management

Try not to move employees as much as you do.

I worked at Firestone Complete Auto Care part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Everyone is a professional and really know what they're doing. Glad I was able to learn a lot from many of the talented techs, when I didn't know anything but how to change oil.

    Cons

I tried getting this job back as a full time student, yet they want you to be part time and available whenever they need you (this would only makes sense anyways).

    Advice to Management

None, everything rules properly and professionally.

I have been working at Firestone Complete Auto Care full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

In the over 10 years I’ve been in this industry, this is easily the most transparent company that I’ve ever worked for. That’s not to say the easiest, but it is retail after all. Typical weekly hours are in the 45-48 range. In virtually all areas, you will start at the bottom of the service writer totem pole, regardless of your past experience. However, if you are a performer, it won’t take long to make your way up the ladder. If you aren’t a performer, then you will languish in one position and constantly see others around you move up. If you are constantly seeing others move up, the BSRO probably isn’t the place for you. Don’t blame the company for your own shortcomings.

    Cons

Most stores are open on Sundays.

    Advice to Management

To fix the VST productivity, allow us to hire more techs. Don’t force us to limit the amount of skill that we can have in the shop. More techs equals more competition for work, which equals higher quality inspections, which equals more sales. Or, the lower quality techs that can’t hack it, eventually float away like a feather in a river.

I have been working at Firestone Complete Auto Care full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Small team in each location, working together closely and learning about about cars. The size of the company allows to transfer locations when you move somewhere else pretty quickly.
Slightly understaffed leads to more work hours and more income.

    Cons

bad reputation of automotive industry and Firestone itself (from prior company style, now much better and trustworthy)
    Slightly understaffed, stressful at times.

    Advice to Management

Use the great company culture and process you guys develop and ensure that they are enforced in every location. Out of the 4 locations I have worked in, only one does a fairly good job.

I worked at Firestone Complete Auto Care full-time

    Pros

I honestly do not have any then positive to say about this company

    Cons

I was one of the only employees ever got hired without a license. Since I was already hired and working when they found out I didn't have a license they agreed to let me keep my job as long as I made a payment towards the fines that I owed to the DMV to get my license back. They gave me one week to show proof that I was making payments on my fines. I did not received a paycheck from Firestone until 4 weeks after I started. Firestone pays weekly so this is a huge issue they gave me the run around for 3 weeks about my paycheck. then fired me for not having money to pay my fines. Also when I did my I-9 form I had to use the district managers computer because the computers in our shop were not working. For some reason my I-9 form did not save onto his computer the day that I did it and so he tried to redo it for me and claims me as single with no children and I am a single mother of three. Last time I checked this is considered to be tax fraud. I ended up getting almost $800 taken out of my paycheck. I would not recommend working for this employer. Firestone still owes me money and admitted to them changing my I-9 form

    Advice to Management

    hire different managers

    Pros

Great company! Great pay! Tons of earning potential if you are willing to put in the work it takes. You can’t make it and will not like it if you are lazy.

    Cons

There are not very many cons other than being short staffed continually

    Advice to Management

The more techs you add to each store the better we can serve the boss. You can never over staff a firestone location!
