I have been working at Firestone Complete Auto Care full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Pay is very decent. Company actually provides education should you request it. Very supportive of your career path if you are willing to try hard. Hours are good at minimum...

      Cons

...but overwhelming at times. It can be extremely hectic if you become the only maintenance tech around.

I have been working at Firestone Complete Auto Care full-time for more than 9 years

      Pros

Decent pay, good benefits, good vacation time off. Great co-workers fun place to work at if you're at the right location.

      Cons

Work weekends, most holidays long hours. Upper management love to cut hours but want you to work certain times of the day to their advantage. Hard to run a shop with 3 people up from sometimes it's only 1, because the other 2 are either working on a car or running around in customers cars. You are a cashier, estimator, janitor, financial advisor (CFNA), salesman, Mechanic, inventory specialist, parts expert and manager...

      Advice to Management

Get help, quit expecting your employees to work hard and give you the results you want. People get overworked and get tired of getting yelled at when they do their best but it isn't good enough. You get high turnover doing something like that.

Awesome pay, great crew, easy job, fun, and I love my location. Plus we get paid every Friday.

      Cons

The only problem I really have is that I work weekends and you don't get all your sales

I have been working at Firestone Complete Auto Care full-time for more than 6 years

      Pros

401K matching Great training programs Awesome discounts on tires and services

      Cons

Every store is ran differently. It is not a team environment. Managers run out when their shift is complete and don’t communicate to associates on what is to be done or pending tasks to finish assisting customers. Long store hours and expected to work every Saturday and sometimes Sunday. The store is not staffed properly in order to meet payroll goals. It is a very stressful environment especially when you are expected...

I worked at Firestone Complete Auto Care full-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

Overtime opportunities, decent pay when it is busy. Plenty of upward mobility if you have the skills. High job security because they will basically never fire their techs no matter how badly they screw up. They will pay for you to take 2 ASE's per year and will give pay raises when you pass them.

      Cons

Terrible work life balance, poor quality control, they bend over backwards for the customer at the expense of the technicians. The service advisors have very little understanding of the services they are selling and promise work to be completed in unrealistic time frames, then the technicians are expected to work late to finish work and the customer is upset because their vehicle isn't finished by the time promised. Advice to Management

Spend the money to hire quality technicians and to provide good continued training, then place higher quality standards on the work being output. Increase your pay rates for technicians or give up on the complete service aspect and go the way of other national chains by just focusing on tires and brakes. Cars are only getting more complex and specialized so you will have to seriously reconsider your strategy to stay relevant...
