Doesn't RecommendPositive OutlookApproves of CEOI worked at Fortescue Metals full-time for more than 5 years
Pros
Very good salary. Excellent work/life balance. I always worked on a 8/6 roster and never had any reason to complain for flights and accommodation arrangements. Rosters and shifts were perfectly organised. My daily work routine always was well set up . I never had to work on time off and I have never been asked to do overtime. The perfect job for settling down and enjoy life.
Cons
Very cliquey environment. Lot of internal politics with promotions being given to mates rather than competent people. Silos culture and bully attitude at times. Not many career development opportunities, owing to the nature of the business also. The work is very repetitive in every business unit, and the learning curve flattens real quick. The daily workflow is occupied by routine tasks. The repetitiveness of the tasks make the job easy but boring, ideal if you want to settle down with no stress but definitely not challenging. Stay for no longer than a few years if you are pursuing a professional career.
