    I worked at Freelancer full-time

    Pros

This used to be a great place to work, everyone was friendly and the culture thrived on friendly rivalry and collaboration. There were some very talented people working here who were great to learn from. As a junior engineer you get to work on real problems and get your code into production very quickly. Nice selection of drinks, declining selection of snacks.

    Cons

Where to begin… this is no longer a nice place to work, the air has turned toxic, the culture destroyed and most people are looking for a way out. There’s no real product development going on, everyone, I mean the whole company, spends all their time doing quick fixes / quick wins / AB tests trying to drive revenue. And on that note, the company makes most of its revenue through dodgy and poor business practices. Unauthorised charges, scams, pre-ticked checkboxes, any dark practices you can think of you’ll find on Freelancer. It’s these practices and a lack of care for the users that the internet is full of bad reviews and scam stories. Honestly, I felt like all I was doing was ripping people off, maybe because that’s exactly what I was doing, though on behalf of someone else. The tech stack is an absolute mess due to pressure from management to always be taking short cuts. All these hacks of hacks have made development unnecessarily cumbersome and slow. Don’t expect to be writing quality code, you’ll just be putting bandaids on a wounded PHP beast, and that gets old fast. One of the managers has really destroyed the culture and spends all his time making everyone’s lives difficult to better his own position at the company. He is a serial liar and busy body. Sitting in a meeting he called to discuss why turnover was so high at 55% was disgusting given everyone is leaving because of him (and our shady business practices). Yet the CEO turns a blind eye to all this? If you're a woman beware, it's a boys club, other companies will value your gender and skills a whole lot more. The company touts that it is “Defining the future of work”, but there is no innovation, there is nothing new. What the company is really defining are the most effective ways to anger users and employees. In reality it is all about filling pockets and building ego at Freelancer.

I have been working at Freelancer full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I can't really think of any reasons except like any job I am paid I guess.

    Cons

I feel ashamed to work here. We are literally trained to manipulate and scam those that use the site. I have been told repeatedly to hide information in "hard to find" sections of the site in order to confuse users and promote unauthorised charges on credit cards etc. The company directors do not care in the least for the actual users of the site - they are happy to benefit while they can even though we are constantly reviewed extremely low on all tech / design sites. I am embarrassed to be here and am looking for other employment.

If We Pay Security Deposit Client Give Project But When The Project Is Completed And We Send It To The Client The Client Dose Not Pay The Money For The Completed Project 5). When The Pay Out Time Comes The Client Closes There Account And Go Guys I Recommend You Please Do Not Make Account On Freelancer.com Here Every Time Or On Every Project Scam Is Going On But If You Pay Membership To Freelancer Of Rs 729/- Per Month Then You Can Get Projects From Clients Guys You Think You Are Going On Freelancer.com For Earning Money Not For Spending Your Money I Think Freelancer Are Not Good For Freshers Or New Account Here The Conclusion Is Freelancer Clients Dose Not Pay Money For The Work

I have been working at Freelancer for less than a year

    Pros

Many jobs are posted on this platform.

    Cons

90% of the jobs seem to be either low-ball offers by employers trying to get free work out of you. The other 10% are either outright scams, have meaningless descriptions, or are otherwise unsuitable. Many jobs never seem to close, so there is no feedback. Definitely the worst platform in the world for getting actual paid work. You are better off with Fiverr or Upwork.
