I worked at GE Healthcare full-time

    Pros

    - diverse team mates - training when you can get it - rigour - common business language - pretty good products - good online systems

    Cons

    - some products have weak positions and they are very slow to adapt - toxic leaders still there - who ever throws the rock first puts the other person in the position of guilty until proven otherwise

    Advice to Management

    fix the stock!

I have been working at GE Healthcare full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Flexibility is there Always a lot to learn with many systems Global, diverse culture Brand name

    Cons

Some people are overworked while some are relaxed and doing almost nothing Not a meritocracy; you will be doing better than other colleagues yet your pay won't be equitable. HR does almost nothing for employee welfare

    Advice to Management

Look out for your star performers and ensure they are looked after instead of burdening them more

I worked at GE Healthcare full-time

    Pros

Get to work with great passionate & talented people. Flexibility & work life balance is accommodated as much as possible. Strong integrity culture

    Cons

Sometimes global top down directives are not in line with local market. Matrix organisation can lead to a lot of time on internal agendas rather than spending time on customer issues.

    Advice to Management

Reduce the reporting matrix with APAC and global to give employees more time to focus on the customer.

I have been working at GE Healthcare full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    - Be part of a global team, for me it was a good change to see what's happening on an international level compare to working in an Australia focused company. - Able to move with in GE to different business (for example it's fairly easy to move between aviation, healthcare, oil & gas etc) - Use to have a great focus on work life balance, training, networking and being part of a greater team (although it no... longer feels like that... the last 2 years this culture has completely disappeared)

    Cons

    - Cost cutting and sell off has created a lot of uncertainty in the work place - A lot of good, knowledgeable people has left and the company is now directionless - Very little to no support, you're expected to make do just to keep the boat afloat - High level leaders who are there to stroke their own ego rather than actually support the team. - There is no focus on progress, project management and development... methodology is 20 years old. Agile is just a buzz word for GE.

    Advice to Management

Focus on real leadership and result rather than fancy presentations and buzz words. Start investing in people and technical rather than cost cutting.

I worked at GE Healthcare full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Technology and Team, reasonable pay, flexibility,Benefits.

    Cons

Worst and lazy Manager you could meet. Never looked at really talented people, support favourite employee who are not team player nor talented.

    Advice to Management

Look around and identify talent (technical or team player). Support engineers, fight for them not against them. Learn from Siemens and Philips.

I have been working at GE Healthcare full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great equipment, good salary and benefits, flexible work place

    Cons

You have to do 3 or 4 peoples job to earn your pay, not enough people to do the work, extreme short term vision, very American, lip service paid to real work life balance while people continue to burn out, no induction training ( really - none!) Management structure is a "matrix" that doesn't work.

    Advice to Management

Stop riding people constantly as they are overworked. Have some courage and invest in more staff to do marketing, sales, project management and service so that you can build long term success instead of continually scrabbling for reactive short term business..
