I worked at General Mills full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The people I worked with were professional, best in class to learn from and develop. Half day Friday and good pay rate meant I loved my time at GM. If you are mobile then the world is your oyster as they really have moved people everywhere from Australia. Regional office in Europe has very strong leadership and holds markets to account.

    Cons

Culture a bit clicky in parts and favourites rise faster than others. Lots of night calls due to time difference can be taxing on family time. Centralised functions to regional / Europe teams can slow things down.

I worked at General Mills full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Half day Fridays, salary reasonable

    Cons

Massive culture problems in this organization, never seen so many people resign in a short period of time. Bad behaviour seems to be ignored/not dealt with. Limited opportunities for development. Zero coaching and development by managers. Very critical environment, employees are not allowed space and time to learn and grow organically. Innovation is slow and years behind competitors/trends. Very unstable environment.

I have been working at General Mills full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

A great culture, flexible, half day Fridays, lots of opportunity to grow skill set with sideways moves, top talent is nurtured

    Cons

Going through an immense time of change and restructure with centralisation to a regional team comes with its challenges.

I worked at General Mills full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Half day Friday's are awesome. Only there because they don't pay as well as other organizations.

    Cons

General Mills Australia has totally misread the Australian grocery space by not adapting and developing brands that were once innovators and leaders in their categories as opposed to brands that now follow their competition with zero innovation. Head office in Melbourne has been turned into an uninspiring dog eat dog culture that has seen many good people leave. What was once a great culture of inclusion and common goals has been removed. WHY! Marketing is run by part time 'mums' who don't really want to be selling spaghetti in Chinese containers. Senior Management no longer have the respect of the teams due to the culture and divisiveness they he's fostered within the sales, marketing and finance teams. This business is not what it once was. It's running only on past reputation, and their once powerful brands are slowly being dissolved by the majors.

I worked at General Mills full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great people at many levels of the company, flexible work attire, intelligent creative minds, family feel, half day Fridays throughout the year, fantastic products!

    Cons

Salary is low, the culture is turning aggressive, low retention rate, junior employees are not protected and are expected to be agressive or get out, lack of "promoting from within".
