I worked at GlaxoSmithKline full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Cutting edge technology, great team I am working with

    Cons

Food price in cafe is a little expensive for an intern, but it is not kind of a con.

I worked at GlaxoSmithKline full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Lots of autonomy, entrepreneurial spirit, great products and brands and people care about what they're doing. Relationships are key to being successful within the organization.

    Cons

Not a lot of structure, not much upward mobility or career opportunities within the US market. Organization can feel very silohed.

I have been working at GlaxoSmithKline full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good pay for entry level job but below industry standard. Ample vacation and personal time. 401K and benefits! Very talented and smart colleagues. Ability to work from home.

    Cons

-Inexperienced managers (no sales experience in sales!) -micro managers -lack of trust and respect for employees from managers -favoritism to tenured employees who lack skills and abilities that are expected for new employees -lack of communication between managers -managers that are not leaders and are only concerned with self agenda or career path -no true promotions (i.e. a position opens, anyone can apply) -ability to work from home but rarely granted on request -major pay differences between team members but everyone shares same responsibilities and more is expected from new team members -tenured people are not properly trained in selling ways and can not provide guidance or direction

I have been working at GlaxoSmithKline full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great career development opportunities, rigorous scientific environment, encouraged and empowered to perform well through leadership, new lab spaces in the Upper Providence site are refreshing

    Cons

R&D in the US is restricted to greater PA area after recent consolidation, less freedom to explore scientific curiosity if the question does not relate enough to the project or company goals (but that's just industry)

I have been working at GlaxoSmithKline for less than a year

    Pros

People are great. They cultivate a culture of positivity and support. The office itself is beautiful. Lots of little perks, like free entry to the Philly Art Museum!

    Cons

I don't think there are any, from my perspective. I genuinely love it here. I wish I could keep working for my current boss, who is amazing, instead of for her replacement, who is just not comparable in my opinion. In general though everyone is super smart and pleasant.
