I worked at GlaxoSmithKline full-time for more than a year

      Pros

      - Free cake almost everyday - Some great young employees - Work hours flexible

      Cons

      - Poor management - No emphasis on career development and progression - Lack of transparency amongst leadership and HR team - No accountability - Roles and responsibilities not clearly communicated and defined, resulting in overwork - Lots of admin - Turnover rate way too high - Long and unnecessary back to back meetings on a daily basis, leading to almost having no desk time to do work

      Advice to Management

Genuinely care about your employees’ well being and career development. Give opportunities for employees to voice their feedback anonymously.

      Pros

Great frontline staff, great products that make a difference for people around the world, interesting work

Poor management at middle and senior levels - short sighted decisions, self protection for those who have been there a long time, inability to make decisions for the longer term

      Advice to Management

Lose 25-50% of management to empower frontline and value add staff. Think and act beyond annual budget

I worked at GlaxoSmithKline full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

Great People to work with and can learn a lot

      Cons

Employee feedback system was more like a collection of minor reasons not to progress rather than being an opportunity to improve and develop. Loads of initiatives for innovation, but not many resources or tools for employees to enable them to innovate based on the needs of the organization....
