    Pros

Free coffee, frequent barista training courses, good training program, supervisors, learnt how to make coffee from espresso and other methods

    Cons

Low pay, bad management, less focus on quality than quality, stressful during busy times, rude customers, working with very young people as they are cheaper

    Advice to Management

Your staff have value, you should treat them as such. Coffee bean isn't very nice.

I worked at Gloria Jean's Coffees (Less than a year)

    Pros

You get a free drink each shift, and I found it easy to have this job while I was at university because the shifts are short and flexible.

    Cons

The pay conditions are pretty terrible. Minimum wage, no extra pay on weekends or public holidays. No super payments the entire time I was there. I left for these reasons - you get ripped off by individual franchisee's!

    Advice to Management

Stick to aware wages and you will have happy, friendly staff who stay for much longer!

I worked at Gloria Jean's Coffees part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

really good place to work because of the customers and the relationships you form and the discounts. had alot of fun making coffee and trying promotional drinks.

    Cons

you arent taught anything at all, very stressful and fast paced. after a while i started to hate it. whenever i would tell the management that i was unable to work, i was yelled at even though i had given two weeks notice and made sure someone could cover me.

    Advice to Management

the management definitely needs to train their staff properly and understand when casuals cannot make it into work (after giving two weeks notice)
