I have been working at Griffith University full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great conditions and benefits, from parental leave, superannuation and leave loading to working in a beautiful state forest. Most people are great and there are opportunities abound.

    Cons

Red tape, hierarchical nature of academics and leadership, top-down approach.

    Advice to Management

Engage with the people, communicate more and better - sharing is caring.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Griffith University for more than a year

    Pros

It is an extremely safe place to work, good work morale among colleges and excellent support from management.

    Cons

To be fair, it is semi-government. This makes red tape intense and it is extremely had to push through any kind of change.

    Advice to Management

Reduce politics and bureaucracy. Focus on listening more to employees rather than looking after interests of people high up that don't have any idea what is going on in classrooms and offices.
