    Doesn't Recommend

I worked at H&M part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great values, young vibe, fresh approach. Co-workers were great, penalty rates on weekend

    Cons

Management run by early 20’s who have poor management skills, probably due to the lack of education to truly shape one’s ability to handle stress or act in a professional manner

    Advice to Management

Review attitude in management style and store satisfaction via anonymous survey by staff with management. It is truly a shame the company has such great values that only reaches the surface. In reality stores are run by their own rules deep in the root.

I have been working at H&M full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Company takes feedback seriously that’s why we do dialogue written feedback twice a year. Lots of small trainings throughout the training. Having good culture majorly depends on the leadership team

    Cons

Really slow at recruiting new team specially for leadership positions, department manager hasn't been filled over 2 months. There was a time only 2 managers working for 2 weeks on their own only getting support from other stores when one of them was having a day off. It just burns them out. Uses the values against their staff to unfair working conditions ( we are one team and if you’re a leader you should support... the store now .....)

I worked at H&M full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Promises for career development , doesn’t deliver, provide transparent communication or is accountable for communication. Some of The most genuine people employed - however they would have left or are leaving

    Cons

Australian management and HR team take a personal approach with communication, are friends outside of work (we know what that means), ideas and suggestions are not welcome. Employment surveys highlighted key words across the business such as bullying, management favourites, screaming, yelling and many other unprofessional practices. High turn over, very little rewards. Management and HR are not... accountable and fail to support the team or truth. HR communicate on social media the place to be and develop with us however fail to recognise employees leaving because they don’t want to be there, there is very little development, no honesty and integrity. #placenotbe

    Advice to Management

Be honest, respect people, have the right people in the right roles, understand the impact that you have on people mentally and physiologically. Take responsibility by being transparent. Don’t sell an idea through social media and deny truth with your day to day teams.
