I worked at HSBC Holdings full-time for less than a year

    Pros

There are lots of good things about HSBC. It has a good culture and work life balance, good exposure to best practices and technologies. Compensation is as per industry standards.

    Cons

The Recruitment (or precisely, the recruiters!) is a nightmare here! The Recruitment team is so lethargic and the processes are such a mess! From a candidate's perspective, if there's an Opening to which the profile of the candidate is a 100% match, he will still be unsure if a recruiter actually gets to look at it. There are so many channels for putting the Open positions - through LinkedIn, Naukri, IIImJObs as... well as Agencies, that even recruiters can't manage properly. From the companies side, it is always hard to find the right candidate, all thanks to recruitment team and process, and even if a candidate is found, the onboarding Process takes ages! In many cases, the candidate either gets another offer or ends up following with the recruiters for initiating the onboarding himself! All in all, there is no Morale check of potential joiners, salary negotiations are very stringent so much so that they even bargain for a mere 5%.

    Advice to Management

I would suggest the higher Management to look at the Recruitment Process, turn around times, and Onboarding closely and do not be lenient to the Recruitment team. I found them coming to office at 11 am and leaving at 5pm.
