    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at HSBC Holdings full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Brand name, decent salary, flexible shifts(mostly). Leave management is good.

    Cons

Infrastructure in Business Bay, Pune is below par. Lack of parking spaces and also (believe it or not) lack of chairs on the floor. Bureaucratic processes. Lack of willingness to adopt cloud in some areas. Working on outdated technologies. People who have worked on outdated technologies continue to serve as Leads and seniors even on newer technologies. This doesnt make sense as they have no expertise on the... new technology, yet they lead such projects purely on the basis of the 10 to 15 years they have spent in HSBC. Most of the senior technical people here are ones who have spent more close to or more than 10 years here. And they are woefully unaware of how the technical world outside HSBC has evolved in the past couple of years. Technologies in use outside HSBC for the past 3 years or so is considered the latest one here simply because they didnt know about it. Spending more than a year here would erode whatever technical skills you have.

I worked at HSBC Holdings full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    1) lots of opportunity to learn and work on new technology 2) Good leave policies for employees 3) Onbording payscale is good nowadays

    Cons

1)Lot of restructuring 2)Too Many procedures ,from company perspective it is good af Bank but for employees it gets irritating 3) Annual hike depends on project/department growth , company performance is not relevant here. So make sure you land up in a project which make huge profit. Else even if you perform best you may be getting less pay compared to associate with low performance in other project.

    Advice to Management

Employees who are loyal to HSBC from couple of years are still under paid. And freshers getting more on-boarding package than 6-9 yrs of exp Associate. Management needs to understand hiring fresher from any institute lastly needs to be trained by the individual project team and there arises issue. As have observed many associated with top performance with 8+ exp are still less paid compared to freshers/lateral with... 2-3 yrs exp, this demoralizes the spirit to work.
