    I worked at Harrods

    Pros

Friendly, supportive team Great work life balance - flexible 9-5 work times Great company culture - regular team celebrations & treats Up to 50% off staff discount on uniform-approved clothing

    Cons

Poor communication and lack of direction at times - leading to misunderstandings and confusion. Staff discount can only be used in-store (problematic during the lock down!) and could be quite difficult to secure should the retail staff deem your chosen items not suitable for a discount.

I worked at Harrods full-time for less than a year

    Pros

You work for an iconic brand that everyone knows Staff discounts on occasion can be pretty good I wasn't there long enough to utilise them, but they do have some good training modules you can enrol in

    Cons

The work environment is very sterile, there are poor amenities (such as no kitchen or break out area). The work isn't very stimulating because you don't feel especially valued, even coming in with fresh ideas - there's very much a feeling of "this is how it is and this is how we like it".

I have been working at Harrods full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good team support develop interpersonal skills staff discount Business allowance for clothing

    Cons

Unorganised department with no real goals Very patronising management No time for personal life Incredibly high turnover of staff: 20 new people in one year in a team of 30. Constantly changing. No one learns anything and this provides terrible and embarrassing customer service to the customer in front of you.

I worked at Harrods part-time for more than a year

    Pros

You meet some amazing people and get to work in a beautiful environment for an iconic company. Staff discounts are also a bonus.

    Cons

Managers. I have worked retail for a few years and have never come across managers like the ones in Harrods. There’s a very unkind and toxic culture and some managers treat you like absolute rubbish. I have witnessed managers shouting and belittling their staff on the shop floor. Have also witnessed managers gossiping and making snide comments about their staff to other staff members. The lack of professionalism is very alarming, very reminiscent of American high school culture.
