I have been working at Holiday Extras full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

The constant evolving projects create new challenges daily and the people and the team around them constantly achieve them well. We have a relaxed and passionate team who care about what they build and how they build it together. Everyone has a voice and the leadership team are all very approachable. Especially our CEO who regurlay takes an interest in what we are building. Progression is great aswell I've progressed into 5 different roles since I first joined Holiday Extras and I'm pretty confident there is more to come.

    Cons

We have various communication channels which can cause confusion across the business and our wifi can be a bit temperamental, hopefully to be solved soon.

I have been working at Holiday Extras full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The company is fantastic and has a clear identity, outlined by it's recently revamped values. I've always felt a part of the HX family from my first day and this is a key contributor to their continued successes. The support network is fantastic and there is plenty of room for progression if you're willing to work hard and seek out your opportunities. The business invests heavily in it's people and is dedicated to promote internally and offering out a number of secondments for members of staff within my time here. The addition of the new building shows the ambitions of the company and I feel that all the top level managers are committed to making us the best we can be.

    Cons

The main reason why I've given this a 4* rating overall and not 5* is that I feel the salary isn't fairly reflected for the level of work in my role. Team sizes have grown far too big in the past, and this is something that the business has identified and committed to not wanting it to get to those levels again, which I hope they see through.

I have been working at Holiday Extras for more than a year

    Pros

Great fun place to work, loads of opportunities for people who want to work hard. Lots of incentives and added extras. Particularly like little touches like Blue Monday where all staff are greeted with a chocolate bar and scratchcard, the free BBQ's in the summer and family day at the flicks!

    Cons

It's a fast changing company so you need to be able to adapt to changes. Sometimes internal structures can't keep up with the pace of change.

    Holiday Extras Response

    November 23, 2016Associate People Director

We're so pleased to hear you like what we are doing here! You're right, we are a fast changing company. Over the last few months, we've made some changes to the leadership team by adding some new faces and external experience which we help us to move in the right direction. Also, we recently communicated to the business about our 3 OKR's (objectives and key results) which will be our focus for the next quarter. This whole business focus will help us make sure that we're able to deliver the right priorities while at the same time laying the foundations for our future plans (of which there are many!). In the spirit of our 'Be Pioneering' value, do let us know if you have any ideas to help us achieve this!

I have been working at Holiday Extras full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

You get to work with really passionate people, lots of perks and extras like annual private health checks, etc, the senior management listen to their staff, if you've got potential you'll be challenged and stretched to develop, lovely location and a good facilities.

    Cons

Communication between teams isn't great at times. The hierachy in the business is really fluid (which also has it's good points) which makes career progression a tough prospect. On a related note, another good/bad one is that people tend to stay for a long time with the company which means that opportunities to go for promotions or progress to other roles are limited.
