I have been working at Hortonworks full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Open community approach is still somewhat present Clever people with unique experience (few that are left in certain teams) Good brand with a friendly technology partner ecosystem

    Cons

Becoming badly political with lots of favoritism New management from big vendors assuming the place can be run like those companies and applying their 'made-up staff production models' Subscription support being pushed onto customers instead of having a consultative/customer-centric approach Lots of travel being requested from management when there's no really business need for frequent travel with all the technology/remote tools Not enough focus and drive around inside sales/lead generation roles
