Thanks for leaving a review. It’s great to hear that you valued your colleagues here at Hydrogen (and I agree, they’re a brilliant bunch of people!) I’d like to understand what you mean by ‘taking all deals from consultants’. I’m very proud of our team culture where we split fees between business winners and researchers and pay bonus accordingly. We operate at a senior level and pay over 1,000 contractors a month and people paid far less are paid monthly in most walks of life and most prefer having 4 times less admin. Feel free to email me with more details about any deals you feel you have had taken from you (iantemple@hydrogengroup.com). Best, Ian

I worked at Hydrogen Group plc full-time for more than a year

    Pros

This is a very big pressured environment which forces you to learn a lot quickly. If you dont learn you're fire within the month.

    Cons

Very high pressured. I started as a research as didn't have previous experience in recruitment. You report to a manager who's commission is based on your performance. This make it very hard to step out of a researcher position, as the better you are at this job the more your manager will earn. The turn over in staff is outrageous, in the time i was there the majority of the team was let go, from director level down. Even employees which have been there 5 yrs, as soon as they have a bad month or 2 then they are out the door pretty quickly. The incentives are good, but again unless you have been in the company for over 5 yrs its unlikely you will become a top biller. It seemed that the market is now saturated and only the individuals who had been with the company for over 5 years could make any real money. They also changed the commission structure while i was there meaning it was even harder to achieve a good salary.

Thank you for your feedback. We recognise that recruitment is not an industry for everybody as it requires patience and a lot of hard graft, and takes time to build strong candidate and client relationships. However, we take active steps to ensure our staff are fully supported and rewarded throughout the journey. We have a brilliant L&D programme, mentoring schemes, a competitive bonus structure and transparent targets for pay increases and promotions, across all levels. Your understanding of the manager bonus scheme is incorrect I am afraid. I do know that they want you to be successful and would explain and coach you in what you need to do to be successful in the industry. We pride ourselves on our incentive programmes which include a 'rookies' category, recognising and rewarding up and coming talent. We’re continuously reviewing our remuneration packages to incentivise a growth culture and none of these put the employee at a detriment as you have mentioned in your comment. Across Hydrogen, and especially EMEA, our staff attrition rate is the lowest it’s been in over 3 years, and is well below industry average as we have been significantly investing in our people and building a ‘great place to work’. I hope you have found a new role that suits you and allows you to achieve your career aspirations. Best Ian

I have been working at Hydrogen Group plc full-time

    Pros

Fair entry level experience if you really have absolutely no prior professional experience and want something to jumpstart your career.

    Cons

Extremely target focused, the pressure is massive to bring leads on a daily basis and score recruitment matches (on the verge of psychological bullying), will be held responsible for the billing despite being at the bottom of the ladder getting paid peanuts, will be asked to go to meetings despite it being above your pay grade. Must be able to sustain any conversation with strangers and extract information and leads from them in cold calls, and network at events with confidence enough to look like you know what you're doing even if you're clueless.

Thank you for your review. We hire ambitious people and help them achieve their goals. Helping you understand what is needed to be successful is important and the intent is always to help you become successful. We have hundreds of examples of people who have made it work for them. We also provide the support system and team around you to help you. We take a zero tolerance stance on bullying, in any form, and have a dedicated HR team along with policies & procedures in place to ensure you are protected and also have someone to talk to. I really encourage you to come forward to our HR team or myself with this issue, so that we can address it immediately and treat it in strict confidence. Thanks, Ian

I worked at Hydrogen Group plc

    Pros

    - Great motivational schemes with loads of incentives for different people. - Listen to employee concerns and make changes to see if new office ideas might work - Fantastic bonus structure - Regular catch ups making promotion and career progression feasible and within reach within 18 months. - Interaction with CEO and staff who are at the top of the hierarchy

    Cons

    - If you don't like sales this environment is not for you - If you are entering as a digital reseracher some people find this a boring task but within 3 months you can be sitting with management on a sales desk
