    Positive Outlook

I worked at INPEX full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Management were very supportive of junior engineers and provided many opportunities to realise capabilities. Team was very enthusiastic and supported each other well.

    Cons

Sometimes given too much responsibility as a junior engineer, and was left manage unfamiliar scope. Sometimes more direction would be beneficial for development of skills.

    Advice to Management

Management of team is superior compared to other large oil and gas companies, but would like to see a more structured learning platform for junior team members.

    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

    I worked at INPEX

    Pros

Good salary, plenty of free time to take care of personal issues

    Cons

Silos, unnecessarily large project team, poor management and strategy, Managers were mostly clueless on managing such projects, poor selection of project personnel, manning up way too early resulting in many twiddling their thumbs, bureaucratic with overly cumbersome processes having adopted most systems from mother operators without questioning the need for such overlapping and over the top systems,...and too many more

    Advice to Management

Think for yourself instead of hiring rejects from other Operators bringing their baggage along and adopting them without assessing the real need for these baggage.

    I worked at INPEX

    Pros

Ichthys and the projects supporting it are interesting and high quality. Plus there was a real sense that loyalty to the company would be rewarded.

    Cons

Despite being in Australia, there seemed to be a tendency to source expat professionals instead of hiring locally, consequently the office culture was occasionally a little bit foreign.

    Advice to Management

    N/A, it's been 5 years.

      Approves of CEO

      I worked at INPEX full-time

      Pros

Great remuneration, heavy on cash component and light on benefits. Excellent executive trying hard to build something great.

      Cons

Rapidly changing organisational with little control over where the company is going. Highly varied workplace experience depending on which department you work in - can be very challenging with poor work life balance.
