Pros

- Good office environment - The office is 10 minutes walk from station so you can skip your morning walk

Cons

- The biggest shock you will get is the culture of the company - You will be treated like a school kid no matter how many years of experience you have - Managers don't trust their subordinates - At least mine didn't - You need to log every second and make up for every minute you were not on your desk - Management has no clear idea what they are doing - Your manager simply don't trust you. They are aware of which website you visit and how long you were on phone - The technologies used can hardly be called as the modern technology stack - No overtime is paid

Good people, disorganised leadership

Pros

Middle-Low level coworkers are good people Nice looking office

Cons

Senior leadership only cares about chasing profits and making promises to clients that aren't possible to implement in time without straining operational departments. "Brave/Strategic/Business decisions" are just buzzwords from the top which result in exhausting the resources of the already over-capacity operation teams. This has been going on for years and the teams have barely managed to scrape by to meet the increasingly ridiculous requirements that are pushed on us. The higher ups can pin a fancy achievement under their name and they continue to create crisis after crisis because they receive no repercussions if any of these projects fall flat on their face. In that case the blame falls on the lowest departments. Hierarchical departments, certain departments treat other departments more like slaves rather than coworkers working together. Complete a project well and some favoured departments will get all the credit. Fail a project due to unrealistic timelines from the top and guess who gets all the blame? Those of us on the bottom of the food chain. The workload of some of these departments are also laughably low considering how extremely well they are paid compared to the other departments. Told mixed messages from global team and local leadership teams. One minute no payrises for all workers due to the whole company being in difficult times, and the next minute there's an announcement that we've had the best year on record? What is the point of the older staff staying if new starters are going to be paid so much more than them?

Pros

Only pro I can think of is the knowledge you gain into the FMCG and Retail domain which sort of gives you a good platform when you switch to a new company

Cons

Where do I begin? - Toxic environment created throughout as the management makes unrealistic promises to the client and have the teams scramble to build them even without the clients having signed a contract. Only to later find out the Client has withdrawn! - Retail/Commercial teams have no idea about the product or processes and just try to boss people around doing the work just because they have promised something - Horrible process of funneling in requirements and more often than not the business stakeholders don't know what they want. - Pathetic decision making in the managerial layer including PMO, BT and Ops - Always understaffed and takes 6 months to approve a resource (approval has to come from the US) - Everyone in the PMO is 45+, so set in their own ways of working and not open to change
