    I worked at Iluka Resources

    Pros

Flexible hours, ability to work from home, promotion of work life balance, transparent, helpful and friendly colleagues, and hardly any politics.

    Cons

The salary was below was other mining companies can offer, but for me the pros were more important.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Iluka Resources full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Location in South West was idyllic. It ensured a great lifestyle, low stress but sometimes challenging job. Pay was reasonable, not brilliant, not terrible.

    Cons

Management truly borders on incompetent. Terrible lack of experience and technical competence as the industry and company are severely isolated from the general mining community.

I worked at Iluka Resources full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Interesting work and projects, travel, good people

    Cons

Didn't advance talented staff, resulting in people leaving, internal politics can be poisonous, some of the management "along for the ride"

I worked at Iluka Resources full-time

    Pros

Good pay and benefits, interesting projects

    Cons

Small number of staff in corporate office, senior managers are appointed by years of service rather than ability

Very open with staff about organisations operations and prospects

    Cons

When the market is poor, spend dried up and it can be hard to get anything done

I worked at Iluka Resources for more than 3 years

    Pros

After seeing good, hardworking and talented people being passed over internally, I left, which is such a positive thing. New life, new company.

    Cons

The company has its' head in the sand. Overlooking the best talent from within with clueless people like the new CEO Tom O'Leary. The previous CEO was so much better. I can't imagine going on here.

I have been working at Iluka Resources full-time

    Pros

Big company with decent revenue, decent facilities in most locations, publicly listed, reasonable management with the exception of the new CEO

    Cons

Tom O'Leary is an awful leader who is going to drive the company into ruin. The previous CEO helped the company achieve great things and was supportive of staff. Tom has no real experience in this industry and lacks the expertise to take Iluka to the next level. Any results that he get will be off the back of the work by the broader management team, one of which should have been promoted. The Chairman Greg Martin and other board members need to take responsibility.
