    SECURE JOB BEING GOVT PSU & GOOD FOR SOUTH INDIANS.

    ADVERSE AND SEVERE ACCOUNTABILITY WITH ILLOGICAL REASONS TO KEEP EMPLOYEES DEPRESSED & ANXIOUS, FOR EVERY LOAN GONE BAD ILLEGAL CHARGE SHEETS ISSUED TO EVEN INNOCENT AND HARD WORKING OFFICERS.

    job security but that is also under peril of being privatized by govt in a few years

    Cons

    poor salary every policy in the bank is only for officers clerks are 2nd class citizens

    I worked at Indian Overseas Bank full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Public sector firm, so stability of job exists even though the bank was among worst performing banks.

    Cons

    No Motivation. No encouragement for new ideas. Top management positions held by people lacking management skills. Poor man management. Excessive interference of Union for Employee transfers which undermines the business motive of the bank. Pruning employee benefits and excess work pressure.

    Job security can be termed as only pro which is also under danger under present government.

    Cons

    Long working hours, dismal compensation compared to private sector peers, Extreme pressure of targets which almost equals private sector peers, Threatening mails and call everyday , Non cooperative regional offices and top management , Too much politics, No proper infrastructure in atleast 30% of branches and so on..
