    I worked at J D Wetherspoon part-time for more than a year

    Pros

The community was nice when it was quiet.

    Cons

Understaffed and overworked for targets etc. So that it was an incredibly high stress environment a lot of the time, with people shouting aggressively and belittling staff who made mistakes. On top of this, there was no reward system in the kitchen that made the environment worth it, and if you didn't immediately get on with some staff members you would be unable to later.

    I worked at J D Wetherspoon part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Friendly staff Discount on food Pretty flexible with hours

    Cons

Late finishes, the earliest I ever got out in a close was 1 am! Always stuck training new staff as the manager didn't think she should train anyone, I was left on my own on my second shift to train a new start! Last-minute guilt trips in having you come into work Managers were not happy if you phoned in sick (I ended up in a&e and my manager did not believe me at all)

    Pros

*Friendly staff and team members who provided excellent support. *50% meal discount during shifts *Opportunities to increase hours above contract

    Cons

*Pay did not justify the amount of hours and work I did. *Almost always understaffed so could be really stressful during peak service. *Really long hours and sometimes inconsistent breaks.
