    I have been working at J D Wetherspoon full-time

    Pros

The salary is good. Some of the bonus scheme is not achievable

    Cons

There’s a lot of focus on the lower level staff and pub managers are completely forgot about. Area managers are number crunchers and have no personable value.

I have been working at J D Wetherspoon full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Good Salary and great to work for. Career progression is always a possibility and the company has done some great work in the last few years to improve the hours worked by management.

    Cons

Tiring, anti-social hours. Very stressful when things are going wrong but the biggest buzz when they are going right.

    Pros

Great salary 40 hour working week 5% of your salary in free shares each year Flexible (to an extent) Company will put you through university Free food & a drink whilst on shift 20% discount when off-duty

    Cons

Literally takes blood, sweat & tears from you Often not permitted enough staff, causing extreme stress and pressure Not permitted to employ door staff which can make you feel unsafe at times Too much focus on money and cutting costs, little time for anything other than running the operation e.g. training, people development Lack of progression opportunities when you reach Pub Manager level

    Pros

Write your own rota, albeit having to work late shifts, some good perks. Build your own team.
