    Pros

Dedicated people to work along side. Partners genuinely care about improving firm wlb

    Cons

Career progression unclear, need to find your own way through the firm. Lateral hires a very mix bag, some are amazing others clearly out of their depths.

I have been working at KPMG full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

Interesting work, competent colleagues and ability to have a good work life balance

      Cons

Pay is comparatively low, bonuses small and overall attitude to expenses etc is stingy

      Advice to Management

Even only slightly higher wages and better bonuses would help retain the people your business is built on

I have been working at KPMG full-time for more than a year

      Pros

      - Good management - Flexible work arrangements - Great opportunities to develop as a professional, especially for someone entering the industry. Better than doing an MBA as working at KPMG provides you with a broad overview of the big businesses and public sector in Australia.

      Cons

      - No specialisation tracks, chaotic work assignment that is irrelevant to your skillset - "Bench shaming": If you are not assigned to client billable work, it's your fault, regardless of whether there is enough work. Partners and Directors should be accountable for not bringing in enough work, not the delivery staff. - Due to short-term engagements, you will hardly ever do anything stimulating. The engagement is over...

      Advice to Management

Have a long-term vision instead of focusing on quick wins.

I have been working at KPMG full-time for more than a year

      Pros

      1. Work life balance 2. A steady stream of quality engagements 3. Reputable brand 4. Great place to keep developing your skills 5. Partners are approachable and will listen to your ideas which means you can network easily and build relationships. 6. A good family friendly place where you are not penalized for having kids.

      Cons

      1. Path to promotion is some what not clear. Can be sometimes based on indicators other than performance. But this is just my perception. I know people who have been promoted within one year of joining the firm. 2. Lower pay than peers in tier one strategy firms as well as peers on the client side at equivalent levels.

      Advice to Management

Keep improving and striving to build a great culture and have truly great leaders at the top roles.

      Positive Outlook

I have been working at KPMG full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Great culture. Great office. Usually lots of work on.

      Cons

Pay the least of the Big 4 but good opportunities and they look after you. Client work varies but not the fault of the firm if you have a difficult client and sometimes you get good ones and sometimes bad ones.

      Advice to Management

Don’t pay your staff less than the other 3 Big 4.
