    Pros

    * We are encouraged to ask questions and to learn, without ever feeling as though we should already have the answer. * I have been given opportunities to expand my skillset in people management. * Everyone I've worked with on a management level or higher has been very welcoming and friendly.

    Cons

    * Long hours (especially during our busiest seasons) can be the norm.

    Advice to Management

Invest in training your staff and do not be afraid to overstaff when possible.

The merger with IHG has been mainly good but also making Kimpton slightly corporate.

I have been working at Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Decent Benefits Package, Daily Meals

    Cons

Abnormally long shifts, inconsistent hours, lack of appropriate compensation, lack of strong leadership from upper management. Strong focus on personal upward mobility in company rather than betterment of performance and experience for direct reports.

    Advice to Management

Need to focus on managing expectations of investors, addressing needs of Staff and aligning company goals with desires of consumers. Management training, staff involvement in decision making and more robust HR staffing and involvement necessary to reduce high turnover of hourly staff.
