    November 11, 2018L'Oréal Talent team

Dear colleague, thank you for sharing your positive experience at L'Oréal! You're so right, R&I is the core of our business, and our driven people make innovation happen. Yes, you're also right that L'Oréal is not the most process driven environment, but we think that this allows us the entrepreneurial spirit and flexibility we so value to make innovation happen. Thank you also for your advice to management, your feedback is useful in understanding where we need to improve. Best, Emma

    Advice to Management

start again and grow up.... your team is your number one asset.. stop trying to wedge it apart and throwing grenades at individuals or teams on a monthly basis.

I worked at L'Oréal full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Really dynamic workplace, many roles anchored in digital, get a lot of autonomy and opportunities to learn and progress in the company. Working with lots of young, like-minded individuals so can make friends for life.

    Cons

Work/life balance can be poor depending on the team, lots of pressure from top down and culture isn't always the best (but they're trying to improve this).

    Advice to Management

Acknowledge hard work and improve the culture.

I have been working at L'Oréal full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

International company. Nice location. If you're good in networking, then you can be promoted very quickly (no matter if you perform well or not in your job). Staff shop.

    Cons

Old school management (incl. top management). Toxic atmosphere (high pressure, big turnover of the teams, can't trust HR and managers). Most of managers are there since years and are being promoted not for their competencies but thanks to politics games. All good elements resign after a few weeks/months. The company in Australia is getting bad results year after year (i.e. the global sharing is at its minimum... since couple of years). However, the staff/management responsible for this poor performance is still being promoted to the top position.

I have been working at L'Oréal full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Very few! Generous free products and they even let you buy luxury handbags, sunglasses, etc from YSL and Armani with discount which is great

    Cons

Senior Management are all about "the perfect show", everything in terms of communications and what the employees and outside world would see is orchestrated. They never tell you the reality if doesn't portrait the image they want. big show one mentality. even their trainings are a show to be able to put on social media and brag about it but in the other hand they would never say how many smart people are departing... everyday because of long hours, lack of pay, politics, etc

    Advice to Management

Put more energy to all staffs' requests such as true diversity, transparency on talent management and development, company challenges instead of the big university week and town halls shows. everyone who has a little brain would know these are high cost productions with the purpose of PR. Be open minded to take criticism rather than axe the employees who voice any opinion slightly different with yours
