I have been working at Land Transport Authority for more than a year

    Pros

The bosses are usually capable leader who is respectable and dedicated. People who are good to work with. The pay is good with good benefits. A structured and always progressing company

    Cons

Only certain skills are more recognised and really needed in LTA. Administrative heavy and could be slow pace. Could not get you very rich

I worked at Land Transport Authority full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    - Good pay package, with stable bonuses - Monthly free public transport - Main HQ office is located right at little india MRT, so very convenient - Colleagues and people that you work are generally nice and helpful. Some have been with the organization/public service with many years, so can be quite resourceful.

    Cons

    - Typical public service with a lot of bureaucracy and red tapes - A lot of "old people" around in the org, so people are generally resistant to changes or not willing to try out different ways of doing things (e.g. "this is how things have always been done", etc). - As with many other public sector orgs, like to hire external consultants to do the work. So staff ended up mostly just being project management, and won't be able to pick up technical skills that are transferable to the outside world (especially for non-engineers). Finally, one should ideally have a passion/interest in engineering or for public transport to enjoy working here. The current flavour of the month is about promoting "walk, cycle, ride" (i.e. taking public transport and active mobility) and getting people to give up cars.

I worked at Land Transport Authority full-time

    Pros

Good pay if you are experienced with qualification. Work Life balance.

    Cons

Politics are very bad in some departments, especially some with long time inherent department culture.
