    I worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    Pay was fantastic. With hard work and networking, advancement opportunities were there.

    Cons

    The culture shifted. There was a focus on customers and employees. This is no longer the case. Its very unfortunate to see what was once a solid company have such a negative shift in values. Profit for upper management is the only focus.

    Work from home, Generous PTO

    Cons

    Never know if your position will be the next to go, outsourcing to other countries to save money - support basically acts as a function to clean up workflows for them to be taken away and given to lower paying positions in another country. Heavily metrics based, its all they care about at the end of the day and expect you to be a machine rather than a human. call center environment, where you are expected to be on the phones more than you were told when hired. transparency and honesty are hard to come by with upper management.

    I worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    They have a great 401k, vacation and pension and also best thing is one day paid per year to volunteer at the charity of your choice and once a year you can donate to the charity of your choice and they will match your donation.

    Cons

    Too much work and too much stress to get the work done and did not want to hire more people to help with the overload, also the computer systems were down quite often which added to getting behind in your work load and the upper management did not take that into account, when they would tell you that you were behind on your work load. The expectations were too high towards the end of my employment, which led to severe health issues and I left.

    Great co-workers and it really is a great job. Management has just made it horrible

    Cons

    It's all about that one number. They say they will speak to it. Nope. Miss it you are on performance review. You can be exceeding in every thing else. But you will be gone. Doesn't matter. And it's not consistent. You can have the same numbers as someone else and they won't have the Target on their back. It's too stressful. Everyone's on meds to work. Upper management doesn't care.

    Little support from upper management, little work life balance (upper management stated team level managers should work 12-13 hours a day x 7 days a week. Lots of politics to contend with.
