I have been working at Lockheed Martin full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    - Company has changed their outlook over the past few years and younger talent with less experience has been allowed to grow at a faster pace. This is retaining young talent more than the company had in the past. - Company instituted cash performance bonuses for Senior, Staff and Senior Staff level positions. - Overall workplace mindset seems happier and more open than it was 5 or 6 years ago. - Lots of growth potential...

    Cons

    - Healthcare has definitely gone downhill the past 2 years. I am lucky to be healthy enough to risk the cheaper, higher deductible plans, but someone with significant health considerations should keep that in mind. - It can be extremely difficult to get hired into the company unless you have a connection. This leads to a lot of former military hires without any hands-on experience with the systems they'll be working...

    Advice to Management

Don't focus on years of experience so much as the ability for the candidate to learn quickly and keep up with the fast-paced environment. Excitement for a new position will translate into a candidate putting more of themselves into the role.

I worked at Lockheed Martin full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Very good benefits at a good company.

    Cons

Some HR polices were not employee friendly.

    Advice to Management

Try and retain your talent. Many talented and cleared folks were lost due to the Leidos spin/sell-off.

You can't beat that experience. Great retirement plans if you want to work toward that goal. Cons

Physical working environment is nothing to crow about. Sometimes, getting identified for the rewarding jobs takes a bit longer.

Explain your expectations clearly to your direct reports. Recognize those who are willing to properly balance their professional lives with their personal lives. Be the example. Listen to both your technical specialists and the support positions. Everyone has a part to play.
