I have been working at Lovisa full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

I have been working with Lovisa for over 3 years and every moment has been a treat. When you show interest in progression whether it be for more responsibility, stock take coordinator, care taker, assistant manager or store manager management will create the path for you, provide the training and excel in adding professional values to the experience. Studying part time and managing full time management allowed me to be...

    Cons

I have never experienced anything bad that has stuck out in my mind as something that would not happen in other retailers and I know does from other friends who work in retail.

    Advice to Management

Continue to invest in the high performing store managers and team to ensure they excel in their roles.

I have been working at Lovisa full-time

    Pros

    - Discounted jewellery - Nice jewellery and stores - Mostly nice team members (which is standard, not everyone is going to be nice) - good as a first job as will hire casuals with zero experience, but only if you're young (I know that's discriminatory, but that's the truth) - can use the experience gained in this job to then get a better job

    Cons

    - Expect you to work for free (as in you don't get paid to open or close, for training or for team meetings) - expected to mop floors after close, using water from bathroom as stores have no taps and not get paid for doing it - you're expected to pay for items for store out of own pocket instead of petty cash - toxic work environment - they cross the line from being assertive in getting sales results into bullying...

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees with respect and you won't have so many leave. You'll also get better sales results from happy employees.

I have been working at Lovisa full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Good discount -Good regional manager (depending on who you get - Get to be surrounded by jewellery learn skills on how to handle pressure and negativity

    Cons

-Rude managers, will push you and pressurise you every 10 mins. will notice every action and will constantyl point out mistakes. Crazy expectations with low wages. Not even one girl stays for long. Rude customers. It's not a styling role rather a saleswomen role where you have to convince customers

    Advice to Management

Please coach managers to not treat team members like their servants. and lessen the pressure you give to team members.

I have been working at Lovisa full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You can build a fantastic fun and positive culture within your team, and make some good life friends. You’ll receive 50% off the products , you’ll get a long weekend once a month ( although you need to constantly remind your regional manager to give you that ) and you may get a regional who doesn’t follow through

    Cons

    - some regional managers need more training in adult learning approaches and better leadership and communication - you might get bullied from regionals about unrealistic things - the standards are WAY TOO unrealistic - there is so much pressure to sell, yes it’s retail , but you’re expected to upsell a customer like crazy - some days no achievement feels good enough - staff turnover is insane - no other company...

    Advice to Management

Invest in your managers and work with them to achieve their personal goals. This will help you retain managers Also, please get better regionals or train them more

I have been working at Lovisa full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Some of the girls I was working with were nice and the discount is OK.

    Cons

They always put a lot of pressure on you, regional managers call almost every hour and shout at you. I had to come in early on my first day and setup the store alone, because no one else wanted to come in or they couldn’t organise the right number of staff. I have also had to stay until late at night until midnight to finish setting up the store for the next day. Of course they would never pay you overtime for this....

I worked at Lovisa full-time for more than a year

    Pros

50% discount. You get paid. Made some good friends

    Cons

Honestly so many. No work life balance to speak of - you literally do work backs all the time, these run till 11pm. Upper management is unforgiving and honestly only cares about money. The work load you are expected to do in the given time is unachievable. The pay is terrible for the work you do. The most micromanaged company I have ever worked for. You have no hiring or firing power as a manager and the rosters...

I worked at Lovisa part-time for more than a year

    Pros

50% off Ability to move home stores easily Good penalty rates Gave me the courage to be self confident

    Cons

-TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT- regional manager changed so often - TERRIBLE HOURS- part time team members are supposed to get a base of 6 hours every fortnight, some weeks I would only get 4 hours despite being fully availiable, they expect you to be 15 mins early (unpaid) or stay back if you are not. If you close by yourself be ready to stay back 1+hours to close properly UNPAID - MANAGERS- uneducated in consumer rights, because...

    Advice to Management

-Stop pushing sales down your customers throats and AOS ( YOU ARE CREATING COMPETITION WHEN WE DONT EVEN RECIEVE COMMISSION) - look at your refund policy, you say you can’t return earrings but will be more than happy to if the customer yells. WORST RETAIL JOB, POOR COMPANY CULTURE, I have met Shane once, he is a nice guy, but I do suggest he work as a part-time team member for a day in a Grade A store, so he can...
