I worked at Lovisa part-time for more than a year

    Pros

50% off discount, Close knit team members

    Cons

High pressure from management to sell add ons and meet KPIs, shifts easily cut if not performing, usually shifts are 5 hours or less anyway. Huge amount of fear mongering especially regarding head office visits,

I have been working at Lovisa part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good place to work as a christmas casual or for a short period of time to get some extra money. Generally the team members are nice and all feel the same about the workplace so it is easy to bond with them.

    Cons

The managers push so hard to sell add ons that the team members usually go home feeling terrible if they did not make their add on target for that day. The hours are unreliable with some weeks being rostered for 20 + hours and other weeks only 8 hours. The managers are not held responsible for anything and never hold themselves to the same standards as the general team members.

I have been working at Lovisa part-time for less than a year

    Pros

    50% discount on all products

    Cons

HR is shocking, they don't even know what they're doing. The response every time I send an email (regardless of content, what I ask, etc.) they just reset my password. Every. Time. Way too much pressure to sell Add On's 15 minutes is not enough time to close the store, and there's no getting paid for time stayed back unless you specifically contact your manager in advance - and you have to argue as to why you need the extra time. The website for information and updates is so so poorly constructed, as is the official product website for the public and the shift timesheets site - its layout is majorly impractical, has glitches and on many occasion won't work for no apparent reason Outside of shift time/work meetings are organised and participation is requested even though most of us are part-timers? And they're unpaid? Not sure what the policy is on this but for the few of us that are working part time for a temporary period, not interested. We have lives outside of working for you. Notice for rosters is sporadic and unreliable - have had 24 hours notice that a shift has been cancelled/given to someone else or swapped onto another day, yet it's expected I always give minimum 2 weeks notice if I need a specific day free. I understand why I have to give notice - but its unfair, the same should be expected of the employer Its also SUPER hot in store all the time because of those product spotlights. Also when I first began, even though my available days were explicitly agreed upon via word of mouth and the official contract, the website is designed to (I think) automatically put me in as full-time available. This caused me to be rostered on for days I couldn't do... this also wouldn't be a problem if the website was designed better and the manager actually filled it in online

I have been working at Lovisa part-time for less than a year

    Pros

The only good this about working with lovisa is the amazing girls I work with I would not of been able to make it 9 months without them love them to bits

    Cons

The push for add ons is to a point of not possible and always being mistreated put down and lied to makes coming to work a nightmare my manager is amazing but then it comes to my regional and when the phone rings I dread awasering in fear of being treated like trash yet again and feeling worthless and upset . The company is so strict on kpi’s at the end of the day it’s just fake jewellery that dose not last. this job has drained me emotionally and physically. I was only given 15min of training then I had to close the store I was there for over 1hr un-paid. The amount of un-paid hours is messed up showing up to work not being told my shift has been changed is not on and it has happend multiple times to me and other staff then not being paid for it ( That is actually against the law) calling for a meeting to talk about all the problems I have been having and when asking why things are like this my reginal blames her mistakes on my manager who gose above and beyond for her team so blaming my manager is not on .Not being cared for one bit by the reginal team I have had a day where I had to walk out of work I sat in my car crying and then my reginal telling me “I don’t know how to handle this your acting like a child’’ After being nearly physically attacked in store and very scared they did not even care about my safety one bit. Having to buy add ons so we would not get yelled at and so we can make benchmark If I add up all the money I have lost by having todo that I guess about over $100. Lovisa is just greedy and money Hungary and do not care about their staff we are made todo stupid things like film the store each night and send to Reginals I get yelled at for not having data on my phone to send updates every 1hr when I get less then 6 hrs a week and can not afford to spend more money on the store than I alredy do. if you hate yourself and enjoy being put down and on the road to depression this is the place for you but If not DO NOT WORK AT LOVISA!!!

    Cons

I have been working at Lovisa for more than 3 years

    Pros

None you never work with your friends/other girls only with the manager who are so nasty

    Cons

Don't work here would not recommend you get paid really low they only hire young people because they will pay you $10 per hour if your 16 Expect you to tell everyone about the add on and scold you if you don't tell every customer the features and benefits even if they don't want to hear it Management is really bad including assistant managers and regional managers they will be nice to you in the start but once you've been there for a few days you'll see!!!! Racist and bullies You will only get 3hours per week it's not even part time hours consistently!

I have been working at Lovisa part-time for less than a year

    Pros

If you enjoy interacting with customers and have a genuine love for styling/fashion then Lovisa is the place to be. One of the most exciting and rewarding parts of my role was getting to help our lovely ladies look and feel amazing.

    Cons

Communication sucks, rosters suck, staff treatment sucks. I've never felt so insignificant within a role in my life. For how little you get paid, you're expected to go above and beyond without complaint. I would also like to mention the ridiculous competitive culture in the store. Staff members within their own team are made keep tallies on their KPIs and add on progress as well as competing against other stores. Of course healthy competition and motivation to reach targets is encouraged in retail environments, but this is sheer greed. I didn't feel like a valued employee, I felt like an expendable money bag.
