    Pros

*50% staff discount on product *Nice girls to work with in store ( on Occassion) *Good potential for growth in the company

    Cons

*head office overloads you with unrealistic operations almost weekly *forced to sell add ons and they are always the same. Results are not considered “good enough” even if you are beating the company benchmarks *serious lack of communication in all areas * regional managers talk down to team, and this is often intimidating * made to feel guilty for calling in sick *does not pay overtime, but you are expected... to be in store to get everything finished. *rosters change constantly * regionals talk about supporting team constantly but neglect issues when they arise

    Advice to Management

Take the time to listen to your team and help and understand them. Regionals need to remember what it was like to be in store as a team member or manager. Stop treating your staff like they are just a number. Acknowledge when people are doing a good job, they just want to feel appreciated. Start paying overtime or decrease work load.

I have been working at Lovisa full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Staff discounts are avaliable for all staff Company often recruits from within and from stores, so you can get promoted and fast

    Cons

Ruthless and uncomprimising management. Managers are not all qualified and should not be leading people, manage via belittling, bullying and threatening staff. Crazy staff turnover. People cant cope in this company and those that do stay usually leave for somewhere better You never see day light, early starts and always working late nights just to get stuff done. Little support from managers and coworkers.

I worked at Lovisa part-time for more than a year

    Pros

    * The 50% off staff discount * The girls you met and work with are fun

    Cons

    * Regionals/Managers expect you to prioritise work over other commitments * No point putting in your availabilities as they are often ignored, you will be finding yourself rostered on days you can not work * Unlike other companies where managers help you find covers, Lovisa managers won’t. If you can’t find anyone to cover your shift you are expected to work * Regionals/Managers will most likely have a... favourite team member that will receive better treatment * Annual leave is never approved even though you provide months of notice * You are often overworked for such low pay * You are hired as a part time stylist so the company doesn’t have to pay you casual rates * Even though you are part time you will be treated like a casual (minimum 3 hours per week, sometimes managers will call you in on the day, etc...) * Poor organisation of rosters (They are released in advance however managers would change them around and provide short notices) * Work environment can be stressful as you will often work by yourself for a long period of time before someone comes in to help

I worked at Lovisa part-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - 50% staff discount - I had some amazing team members and some lovely managers - stock is cool - sometimes get bonuses - I learned how to do KPI’s, merchandising, store opening and closing, POS, styling... really great skills for future jobs - some lovely customers - I liked dressing up for work

    Cons

    - massive pressure on selling add on items (sometimes putting so much pressure on staff to sell that they buy them themselves) - too many competitions - ridiculous repetitive morning calls - senior managers try to intimidate you and give you no recognition - ridiculous about getting shifts covered - rostered on days that you have put no availability for - ridiculous pressure to clean and tidy the whole... store in 15 minutes allocated at the end of the day

    I worked at Lovisa part-time

    Pros

The store team was nice (depends on the store. I got lucky) Store manager was nice (depends on your store. I know people from other stores hated their managers) Staff discount was sweet 50%

    Cons

The higher management is constantly breathing down your neck and making you feel low key bad if you don’t reach targets. They don’t really compromise with availability and if you’re sick, you have to find a replacement yourself and don’t even get paid for your sick leaves. The pay was kinda terrible for the amount of work we had to do and they tried to justify it with the staff discount but honestly half of your... pay check would just go to buying the stores stuff because you had to stay on top of the latest trends.

I have been working at Lovisa full-time

    Pros

Getting to work with a lot of people your own age you make friends pretty easily. Good staff discount and the end of year roadshow is fun.

    Cons

Lovisa is all about focusing on the negatives and regularly forget to celebrate the wins. You can have all your KPI’s amazing but if your add on % is bad you’re automatically doing terrible. Add ons in general are way too much of a focus in stores and give team a lot of stress and pressure. There is literally never enough time for anything. They pretty much expect you to work overtime for free because you are... never given any extra hours to finish anything. I know girls who would stay back for two hours a night finishing plannograms in order to not get in trouble. There is just a pretty toxic culture in general and they focus on the wrong things

I have been working at Lovisa full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Some nice people to work with Access to staff discounts

    Cons

Senior managers are ruthless and known to illegally terminate employees if they don’t fit the mantra of the company. They set impossible deadlines, KPIs and benchmarks and are furious if they are not met and people are held accountable. Its not a supportive environment, so don’t expect any support or understanding from anyone. It is a very negative and intimidating place to work, managers are belittling, and... co-workers will smile at your face and undermine you behind your back. Generally, people who work here are treated as a number and not a person, unless they are friends with senior management. They don’t care about people or you as a person, all that matters is making sales above budget and nothing will stop them to achieve this. There is very low morale in the office and as a result of how the company is managed the staff turnover is incredible high, no one wants to stay here for long once they are here. Look at the reviews on this site and the way people are treated. Do something about the culture of this place! Treat people like they should be treated, it’s the number one golden rule!
