I have been working at Lowe's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It’s a great work environment. The co workers are great role models and most are great leaders. Customers come in and it’s great to see them leave with a satisfied smile

    Cons

Sometimes there can be some trouble between workers or customers. You have to keep a clear mind set and see from all perspective

    Advice to Management

I have been working at Lowe's part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great coworkers- like a family
    SOME great managers

    Cons

No raises other than yearly 1 1/2 -3%
    Very poor training program.
Scheduling is horrible. Does not allow for private life most of the time.

    Advice to Management

    COMMUNICATION IS VITAL
People should be moved up as they advance....ie. after 4 years, I am a CSA 1 and often run 3 or 4 departments alone. New hires are coming in as CSA 2, 3, or even 4.

I have been working at Lowe's full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great work environment, great team, great benefits, new CEO vision for the company, loyal customers.

    Cons

Delivery service/drivers, dated technology, pay increases

    Advice to Management

At store level we must deliver exceptional customer service to our customers, the same must go for the people who install and deliver product to our customers homes. No one wants negative, rude, unprofessionally dressed people in there homes. It's a misrepresentation of the companies vision.

    Pros

The pay is pretty good, you get a pay bump every year. You will get a bonus if you come in under your inventory plan. Matching 401k is nice.

    Cons

Depending on your store you could end up working 48 hours a week.

I have been working at Lowe's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Professional environment with most people doing their best to work together and help customers.

    Cons

Hours can be reduced and not many weekends off, sometimes expected to do things not in the job description and sometimes understaffed.

    Advice to Management

Try not playing favorites when it comes to internal hiring, it can be frustrating being the most qualified person for a job in the store, and losing to a transfer from a different store.
